The claim

Somewhere in the last sixty years, a set of assumptions about sex, love, and marriage got promoted from debatable to obvious. Sleep together early. Live together first. Keep your options open. Follow your heart. Most dating advice, secular and Christian alike, now argues inside those assumptions. We think the assumptions are the problem.

mivocatio exists to test them in public. As viral claims about dating and love move through the feed, we take what is actually said and answer it. Not with our opinion. With a pressure-tested response from the canon of the Catholic Church: Scripture, the Catechism, the Fathers, the theologians.

The method

Every piece runs the same procedure. Steelman the claim, including whatever the professionals get right in their own terms. Examine the premise underneath it against the canon. Rule in register: VERDICT where doctrine decides, COUNSEL where prudence governs, UNDETERMINED where the canon is silent or genuinely disputed. Then The Way Forward: what to actually do next, for the reader already living inside the claim.

Psychology, neuroscience, and sociology appear often in our pieces, and we quote them straight. They are witnesses, never judges. It is remarkable how often the strongest evidence against a conventional claim is already sitting inside the secular literature that popularized it.

The rules we cannot break

• Every Scripture, Catechism, and Church Fathers quote is verified word for word against source texts before publication. A fabricated citation would end this project, so there will never be one.
• Claims, not persons. We engage what public figures publicly say. Character is off the docket.
• The three registers never blur. When we are certain, it is because the Church is certain. When she is silent, we say undetermined out loud.
• No ruling ends at the diagnosis. The Way Forward is standing policy.
• We will never tell you what God is telling you. That conversation has two parties and we are neither of them.
• We will never write your texts for you. If a chatbot is doing your flirting, our first ruling already covers you.

Who is behind this

Catholics who live in the same feed you do and got tired of watching a generation take dating advice from people who profit from its loneliness. The site speaks as we because the authority lives in the sources, not in a personality. Rulings are drafted with modern tools, verified against the sources by hand, and nothing publishes without a human editor signing off.
